December 3, 2001 Winners of the second annual "My VH1 Music Awards '01" were announced last night in Los Angeles, at the Shrine Auditorium. The event was hosted by Eric McCormack (Will & Grace).
Through VH1.com, fans created the "My VH1 Music Awards" by suggesting the categories, picking the finalists in each category, and voting for the winners up until the last moment that the awards were presented live on December 2.

Fans are able to grab their own piece of rock history when the VH1 Save
The Music Holiday Auction puts up more than 150 items -- including exclusive
memorabilia from "My VH1 Music Awards '01" -- for bids at VH1.com and eBay.
The auction action begins on Sunday, December 2 -- the same day that "My
VH1 Music Awards '01" aired live on VH1 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los
Angeles (at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT) -- and will conclude on December 17. All
proceeds from the auction will benefit the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, a
non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in
America's public schools by restoring and supporting music programs across the
U.S.
"My VH1 Music Awards '01" will air again on VH1 on Monday, December 3 at
2:00 p.m.; Wednesday, December 5 at 5:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 8 at
8:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. (all times ET/PT).
