November 19, 2002 — Pop music legend Art Garfunkel was admitted to Harvard after all. Although not accepted to Harvard University when he originally applied, Garfunkel was enthusiastically welcomed when he performed to a sold-out crowd on campus Friday night (11/15). Before launching into "Everything Waits To Be Noticed" -- the title track from his new Manhattan Records album with partners Maia Sharp and Buddy Mondlock -- Garfunkel told the crowd, "You know, Harvard was one of the schools I applied to out of high school. You rejected me, so I went to Columbia College in New York while I slipped away downtown to develop this extracurricular activity -- rock and roll. And now after all these years you've let me in ... everything waits to be noticed." Garfunkel, Sharp and Mondlock wrap up the first leg of their world tour November 23 in Hartford and return to the road in late January.

Garfunkel talked with interviewer David Dye about his solo career as well as his long-time relationship with singer-songwriter Paul Simon.
