KEB' MO' ANNOUNCES 2001 TOUR DATES
New Album The Door In Stores Now
November 29, 2000 Beginning January 5, Keb' Mo' will set out on a month of tour dates in support of his latest release, The Door, which hit stores October 10. It's been almost two years since the release of Keb' Mo's Slow Down which won him his second Grammy, for the Best Contemporary Blues Album of 1999. Keb' Mo's new album The Door, produced by veteran Russ Titelman (Eric Clapton, Paul Simon, James Taylor), conveys a rich range of messages (see press quotes below).
Here's Keb's 2001 itinerary: |
January 5 | Greenville, SC | Peace Center
January 6 | Knoxville, TN | Tennessee Theatre
January 7 | Nashville, TN | Ryman Auditorium
January 11 | Jacksonville, FL | Florida Theatre
January 12 | Orlando, FL | House of Blues
January 13 | Tampa, FL | Tampa Theatre
January 14 | W. Palm Beach, FL | Carefree Theatre
January 16 | New Orleans, LA | House of Blues
January 17 | Austin, TX | La Zona Rosa
January 18 | Ft. Worth, TX | Caravan of Dreams
January 20 | Denver, CO | Fillmore Theatre
January 24 | Portland, OR | Schnitzer Concert Auditorium
January 25 | Seattle, WA | Paramount Theatre |
And here's what the press is saying about Keb' Mo' and The Door:
- "You may have to suffer to sing the blues, but listening to The Door is pure joy." New York Post
- "[Keb's] smoky, Redding-esque vocals and the band's grit-free backing make the travails outlined in his lyrics easier to endure less a soul-wrenching than a life-affirming spin on his roots in the blues." Los Angeles Times
- "Filled with strongly crafted songs, most of which were written or co-written by Keb' Mo', The Door resonates with joy and heartache." People magazine
- "[Keb's] wonderfully expressive voice and deft guitar work elevate him miles above the competitive ranks. Do yourself a favor: Take a break from the doldrums of the trendy bands of the moment and pay a little respect to the kind of musicianship and creativity that will stand the test of time." Billboard
