Oasis and the Black Crowes Discuss Plans For a Co-Headlining Summer Trek
November 2, 2000 Management reps for England's Oasis and America's the Black Crowes have
recently met to discuss the possibilities for mounting a co-headlining American tour in summer 2001.
The tour will unite two bands that exemplify outstanding American and British
rock and who are fronted by siblings:
Chris and Rich Robinson (the Black Crowes) and Liam and Noel Gallagher
(Oasis).
Both camps are discussing potential cities and venues as well as a launch
date, conceivably in June.
Marcus Russell, manager for Oasis, says "The idea of these two great bands
touring together has excited everyone we speak to. It's the ideal
combination for those who take their rock charged with passion, soul and
energy."
Pete Angelus, manager for the Black Crowes, says "The history, credibility,
resilience, talent, passion and music of both bands speak for itself. If we
can work out the details, the tour will mark the pairing of America and
England's greatest rock 'n' roll bands. God help us all."
Oasis will release a live album, Familiar to Millions, this month on Epic. The CD was recorded
this past July at the sold-out Wembley Stadium. The Black Crowes are now in the studio with producer Don Was recording their
debut album for V2 Records, set for release in the spring of 2001.
