Incubus Rock Crowd at 24th MGD Blind Date
Miller Genuine Draft's 'Secret Concert' in the Bahamas
October 1, 2002
Incubus played to a raucous crowd at the 24th MGD Blind Date, held at
Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
MGD Blind Date is a unique concert experience where legal-drinking-age
consumers win a trip to a great location to attend a concert from a secret
band. MGD Blind Dates have featured some of the biggest musical
acts over the years. Beginning in 1997, MGD Blind Date has featured artists
such as Metallica, Foo Fighters, Beck and many more.
Perry Farrell -- Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros frontman and creator of
the music festival Lollapalooza -- led MGD Blind Date off with a 45-minute DJ set.
After last year's event was cancelled due to the events of September 11th, MGD
Blind Date contest winners from last year were invited to join this year's
winners in an event with more than 1,000 people from all over
the world. Legal-drinking-age consumers could win a trip in a variety of
ways, including entering via the Internet or sending in a postcard with all of
their contact information at which time a random drawing was held to choose
the winners.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be able be part of MGD Blind
Date," said Dana Dugal, 30 of Minneapolis. "Incubus was amazing!"
