Michael Jackson Wraps 'What More Can I Give' September 11th Relief Song with the Help of 'N Sync
October 27, 2001 Michael Jackson completed the studio recordings for his benefit single "What More Can I Give." 'N Sync was the last to record the song Michael Jackson produced in response to the tragic attacks against the United States on September 11th.
Jackson responded to the September 11th tragedy by producing and assembling a group of artists to participate in "What More Can I Give." Michael
will release the single in both English and Spanish versions of the song. The
following artists have participated in studio recordings 'N Sync, Ricky Martin,
Mariah Carey, Carlos Santana, Celine Dion, Tom Petty, Beyonce Knowles of
Destiny's Child, Usher, Julio Iglesias, Reba McEntire, Backstreet Boy Nick
Carter, Luther Vandross, Shakira, Brian McKnight, Gloria Estefan, Mya, Aaron
Carter, Hanson, Laura Palcini, John Secada, Billy Gilman, Ruben Blades,
Anaida, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, Alejandro Sandz, Christian Castro, Olga
Tanon, Anastascia, Joy Enriquez, Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, Thalia, Ziggy
Marley, and 3LW.
Michael's goal is to raise more than $50 million for the families, orphans
and survivors of the terrorist attacks.
Prior charitable efforts by Mr. Jackson include "We Are the World" which,
to date, has raised $65 million to address starvation and hunger in Africa.
"We have demonstrated time and again that music can touch our souls. It is
time we used that power to help us begin the process of healing immediately,"
he said.
