Rob Zombie Returns with The Sinister Urge
With Help from Ozzy, Slayer, Tommy Lee, and the Beastie Boys
October 23, 2001
On November 13, 2001, Rob Zombie will return with The Sinister Urge,
his first album since
1998's Hellbilly Deluxe, which debuted in the Top 5 and became his best
selling album to date, certified triple platinum. The Sinister Urge (Geffen
Records) features guest appearances by Ozzy
Osbourne, Tommy Lee, Slayer guitarist Kerry King, DJ Lethal and Beastie Boys
DJ - Mix Master Mike. Zombie and Ozzy will launch a co-headlining tour, with
each presenting their full stage show, starting on Halloween.
Zombie says "My goal was to make a big, lush, live-sounding hard-rock
album, reminiscent of the albums I grew up listening to. Musically it is not
a radical departure, but it is definitely more melodic and straight to the
point. I wanted it to play as an album from start to finish, not just a bunch
of songs strung together."
The Sinister Urge was produced by Scott Humphrey and Zombie, and the
first single/video is "Feel So Numb." Other tracks include "Dead
Girl Superstar," "Never Gonna Stop" (now featured on WWF as Edge's theme song)
and "House Of 1000 Corpses" (the title song of the yet-to-be-released movie that
Zombie wrote and directed) and the Ozzy-aided "Iron Head."
Zombie regulars also contributed: Riggs on guitar, Blasko on bass and
Tempesta on drums.
