Limp Bizkit to Hold Guitarist Auditions
October 16, 2001 According to Limp Bizkit's official website, guitarist Wes Borland has left the band. The release says "Limp Bizkit and Wes Borland have amicably decided to part ways. Both Limp Bizkit and Borland will continue to pursue their respective musical careers. Both wish each other the best of luck in all future endeavors."
In an effort to continue their tradition of remaining close to their fans, Fred Durst, DJ lethal, Sam Rivers, and John Otto will embark on a tour of the U.S. to hold a series of guitarist auditions and "fan parties."
The group intends on keeping the fan parties loose in format. "It's just
a great chance for us to be with our fans," says Durst. The parties will be
different in each city. "We could be at a club, at your house, at the mall,
at your high school, who knows," said Durst.
The guitarist auditions will offer the opportunity for talented young
players from across the country to have a unique opportunity to join one of
the largest rock bands in the world. "AllZC have to say is if you got it ...
bring it on!" says Durst. The tour will look to stop in a minimum of 8 and as
many as 14 markets. The band would like to include the following cities:
Boston, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit,
Chicago, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles and will tentatively
start in late November. "Listen to your local rock or alternative station for
details ... and get there any way you can," says Durst.
Limp Bizkit's upcoming release, New Old Songs, will be in stores
Dec. 4 and features re-mixes of their top songs by master producers
the Neptunes, Timbaland, P Diddy, DJ Priemere, Butch Vig, DJ Lethal,
William Orbit, and others. The album also features guest performers Xzhibit,
Everlast, Eve, 8-Ball, Bubba Sparxxx, and E-40.
