The robotic duo Daft Punk are set to release Alive 1997 November 6th -- the band's first live album. Only 50,000 copies will be manufactured in the United States.
The idea for Alive 1997 started when Daft Punk happened upon a live
recording captured from a performance in Birmingham, UK during their
first European tour. After listening to the recording, the duo decided that
it was their best live performance and wanted to share it with Daft Punk
fans.
Alive 1997 has 45 minutes of non-stop live mixing that showcases the group's unique DJ style.
Track Listing:

the album Discovery (released Dec 5, 2000), which spawned the #1 dance/club hit, "One More Time."

Two major corporations and the world's biggest sporting event pegged Daft Punk for their advertising campaigns. Three tracks from Discovery are making waves from clothing to
sports to lingerie.
"One More Time," the first single from Discovery is currently being used for a Victoria's
Secret commercial to introduce "Body By Victoria."
The Gap enlisted Daft Punk along with actress Juliette Lewis to show off
their Fall 2001 line. Juliette and the Daft Punk robots show off their
funky dance moves to the infectious beats of "Digital Love," which climbed to
#9 on the Billboard Hot Dance charts. The 30-second commercial will air through October 30th. In addition to the U.S., it will air for the same period of time in Canada, U.K., France, Germany and
Japan.
The 2001 Winter Olympics use the slammin' track -- and next single --
the motivational "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" to be their theme in a
commercial for the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, UT in February
2002. The 30-second spot began running July 1st and is unlimited in
broadcast and includes the internet worldwide. The ad brings back memories of
the opening of ABC's Wide World of Sports and "the thrill of victory and the
agony of defeat" mantra. It's fast paced and furious and most certainly
"reality" television.
Discovery is Daft Punk's follow up to their debut, Homework.
