Slayer Announce U.S. Fall Tour
October 9, 2001 Thrash-punk-metal group Slayer will kick off a four-week headlining tour of the U.S. October 29 in LA.
The tour is in support of Slayer's eighth studio album, God Hates Us All
(click for CD review) which was released in September.
Slayer's U.S. dates come on the heels of the band's SRO "Tattoo the Planet"
European tour which concludes this Sunday, October 14. Slayer's bassist, Tom Araya said, "In Holland, the crowd went nuts when we
came on stage. At one point, the audience like 10,000 kids were singing
along so loudly, I just stopped and let them finish the song. It was just
amazing."
For nearly two decades, Slayer Araya, guitarists Kerry King and Jeff
Hanneman, and drummer Paul Bostaph have been acknowledged as one of the more
uncompromising metal bands. As a result, their music has stood the test of time better
than the remaining "big three" '80s thrash outfits (Metallica, Megadeth,
Anthrax).
