Lit to Launch New Atomic Release October 16
Several Performances and Appearances Confirmed
October 9, 2001 In anticipation of their forthcoming release Atomic, Lit have lined up a slew of TV performances and other promotional activities surrounding its October 16 CD release date. Atomic is the follow-up to their platinum-plus A Place in the Sun, which garnered the hit singles "Miserable," "Zip-Lock," and the #1 Billboard Modern Rock song of 1999, "My Own Worst Enemy."
Earlier this summer fans got a taste of Atomic with the song "The Last
Time Again" when it was featured in the movie American Pie
2. The official first single, "Lipstick and Bruises," is currently #11 on
Billboard's Modern Rock chart. A. Jay Popoff (lead vocals), Jeremy Popoff
(guitars), Kevin Baldes (bass) and Allen Shellenberger (drums) will finish up
their promotional club tour this coming week and are set for the following performances:
- Wed, Oct 10 - "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno"
- Fri, Oct 12 - MTV's TRL, band will debut the "Lipstick and Bruises" video and introduce their new superhero "Mulletron."
Mulletron is an 8' 2" robot constructed with parts from a mobile home.
Mulletron's mission is to bring happiness and harmony to the people by giving
them all something to celebrate ... the mullet. His hands are equipped with
scissors and a vent brush for the perfect mullet sculpting, and his eyes
feature a laser beam that can actually grow a mullet on someone whose hair
might be too short, ensuring that no one is left out of the excitement.
The following week Lit will be back in California for the following appearances and performances:
- Sat, Oct 13 - Santa Anita Racetrack, free show with Handsome Devil and
MXPX.
- Sun, Oct 14 - Lit will offer their best advice when they team
up with Dr. Drew & Adam Corolla on KROQ's "Loveline" show from 10:00 p.m. to
midnight.
- Tues, Oct 16 - 7:00 p.m. the band will make an in-store appearance at the Wherehouse Music Store in Irvine.
- Wed, Oct 17 - 7:00 p.m. the band will be at Best Buy store in Riverside to sign copies of Atomic.
