Marilyn Manson's Posthuman Record Label to Release Soundtrack to Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2

Artists on the Soundtrack Include Rob Zombie, System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age and More

October 6, 2000 – It was announced today that the very first release from Marilyn Manson's newly formed label, Posthuman Records will be the soundtrack to Artisan Entertainment's highly anticipated film, Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2. The album is set for release October 17 and fittingly features tracks from some of rock music's edgiest artists, including a previously unreleased track from Manson himself. Artisan will release Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2 to theatres nationwide October 27.

Taking full advantage of crossover fans for both the Blair Witch franchise and Manson, the soundtrack's thematic music invokes the spirit of the feature film and the franchise. Manson also plays a significant role in the Blair Witch WebFest, a three-day online convention beginning October 18, located at The grand-prize winner of the convention's contest will win travel and tickets to Minneapolis for the opening night of Manson's concert tour as well as a private screening of Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2 with Manson himself.

The full track listing is as follows:

Godhead      The Reckoning
Pod      Lie Down
Tony Iommi     Goodbye Lament
Rob Zombie      Dragula
System of a Down      Mind
Slaves on Dope      Stick It Up
Marilyn Manson      Suicide Is Painless
Death in Vegas      Soul Auctioneer
Project '86      Ps
Nickelback      Old Enough
U.P.O.      Feel Alive
Steaknife      (Tommy) Don't Die
At the Drive In      Arc Arsenal
Elastica      Human
Queens of the Stone Age      Feel Good Hit of the Summer

The Manson track will undoubtedly be familiar to older movie fans who may remember "Suicide Is Painless" from the movie M.A.S.H. Written by John Mandel and Michael Altman, Manson's version of "Suicide Is Painless" is as dark and foreboding as the Blair Witch itself.

Book of Shadows Blair Witch 2 is directed by documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Paradise Lost: The Child Murders, Reefer Madness, Brother's Keeper; Metallica Fan Club). The film delves deeper into the legend of the infamous Blair Witch and the unspeakable evil wrought in the Black Hills near Burkittsville, Maryland.
