The Cranberries Announce New CD and Promo Tour
August 7, 2001 The Cranberries will soon release their fifth studio album, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (their first with MCA Records), October 23rd. The album's first single, "Analyse," hits radio August 27th. Coinciding with the release of the single, the
Irish-based band will head stateside for a string of private semi-acoustic
concerts in five U.S. markets (see below).
With the exception of the show in Boulder, Co, tickets will not be on sale
to the public. Fans of the Cranberries can obtain tickets through local
radio station giveaways or through the Cranberries website.
Tickets for each show will be given away and as a grand prize, two pairs of
these tickets will win the opportunity to meet the band. Fans simply need to
send an email to crancomp@elive.ie telling them which show they would like to
attend, in what city and state they live and in no more than 30 words why the
Cranberries should give you tickets for the show. The band will read the
letters and choose the winners. For more information log on to

2001 marks the 10th anniversary of the Cranberries formation. They were
discovered in Limerick, Ireland, after demos by Dolores O'Riordan, Fergal
Lawler, and brothers Noel and Mike Hogan drew the attention of Island Records
founder Chris Blackwell and producer Denny Cordell (Leon Russell,
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers). Wake Up and Smell the Coffee was produced
by Stephen Street.
