The Cranberries Announce New CD and Promo Tour

August 7, 2001 – The Cranberries will soon release their fifth studio album, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (their first with MCA Records), October 23rd. The album's first single, "Analyse," hits radio August 27th. Coinciding with the release of the single, the Irish-based band will head stateside for a string of private semi-acoustic concerts in five U.S. markets (see below).

With the exception of the show in Boulder, Co, tickets will not be on sale to the public. Fans of the Cranberries can obtain tickets through local radio station giveaways or through the Cranberries website. Tickets for each show will be given away and as a grand prize, two pairs of these tickets will win the opportunity to meet the band. Fans simply need to send an email to crancomp@elive.ie telling them which show they would like to attend, in what city and state they live and in no more than 30 words why the Cranberries should give you tickets for the show. The band will read the letters and choose the winners. For more information log on to www.cranberries.ie.

The Cranberries U.S. promotional concerts are as follows:

August 14 - Los Angeles, CA - Roxy Theater
August 16 - Boulder, CO - Fox Theater **tickets on sale
August 18 - Chicago, IL - Double Door
August 20 - Minneapolis, MN - Fine Line
August 22 - New York City, NY - Bowery Ballroom

2001 marks the 10th anniversary of the Cranberries formation. They were discovered in Limerick, Ireland, after demos by Dolores O'Riordan, Fergal Lawler, and brothers Noel and Mike Hogan drew the attention of Island Records founder Chris Blackwell and producer Denny Cordell (Leon Russell, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers). Wake Up and Smell the Coffee was produced by Stephen Street.
