Cher To Give Away New Harley-Davidson Motorcycle at Annual Rally;
Funds from Raffle Donated to Children's Craniofacial Association
August 8, 2000 Cher will present a new Harley-Davidson 1200 Custom
motorcycle to the lucky winner of a national raffle being held to support the
Children's Craniofacial Association, August 11th. The presentation will take place as part
of the annual biker rally in Sturgis, South Dakota generally the largest such gathering
in the nation. In addition, bikers at the rally are planning a
special "Believe Ride" to honor Cher. Funds from this ride will also be
donated to the charity.
The two elements of a biker rally and helping out kids born with serious
head and facial disfigurements echo the 1985 movie "Mask," which starred Cher.
Cher is a decade-long supporter of the Children's Craniofacial Association (CCA).
She annually sponsors a retreat for children and their families, which
provides the opportunity for the kids to relax and have fun. She also often
visits with the CCA kids as part of her concert tours.
The "Believe Ride" costs $100 for participating bikers. It will leave
from Sylvan Lake, near Sturgis, and proceed to the Buffalo Chip Campgrounds
where Cher will take the stage to present the new Harley. Raffle tickets ($5
each, three for $12 and six for $20) and registration for the "Believe Ride"
are available online at www.buffalochip.com.
