The Who and Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes Add Third Show at Madison Square Garden
August 7, 2000
With tickets for their October 3 and 4 co-headlining shows at New York
City's Madison Square Garden selling out in less than an hour this morning,
the Who and Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes have added a third show at the
venue due to overwhelming demand. Tickets for the Friday, October 6 show
will go on sale Monday, August 14, 9:00 AM, via regular ticket outlets.
As previously announced, in an unprecedented move, there will be no
admittance into the venue after the 7:30 PM start time sharp (the doors open
at 6:00 PM). These special concerts for which there will be no opening
act are conceived by both acts as a complete musical experience from
beginning to end. An onstage collaboration by the Who and Jimmy Page and
the Black Crowes at some point in the evening is currently in the talking
stages.
Meanwhile, fans across the country are experiencing the power of the Who and
Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes the latter of whom are performing songs by
Led Zeppelin and the Black Crowes plus vintage blues numbers this summer.
Although these shows are separate concerts, they are routed in tandem
whereby the Who perform either the night before or after Jimmy Page and the
Black Crowes take the stage at the same venue. Tickets for these concerts
are sold separately, but a discount of $15.00 is offered to fans that
purchase lawn tickets for both shows.
The upcoming Madison Square Garden concerts will mark the very first
time both the Who and Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes are performing at the
same concert.
