Slipknot Members Unmask for New Projects:
Stone Sour and Murderdolls

June 25, 2002

Stone Sour:
Two Slipknot members -- vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root -- were members of the band Stone Sour prior to Slipknot. The guys recently re-joined forces with original Stone Sour members guitarist Josh Rand and bassist Sean Economaki and the band plans to release its self-titled debut, September 17, 2002. Joel Ekman is the new face in the band on drums and Slipknot's Sid Wilson offers guest DJ appearances.

The side project offers up introspective and melodic rock, without foregoing the heaviness true to Slipknot fundamentals. According to Taylor, the sound is "like Metallica meets Alice in Chains."

Stone Sour will begin filming a video for the song, "Get Inside," June 26th at the Whiskey in Los Angeles, CA. A video shoot is also in the works for the song "Bother," which can be currently heard on the Spider Man soundtrack, as well as on modern rock stations across the country.

Stone Sour's debut track listing is as follows (sequence to be determined):

1. Get Inside
2. Orchids*
3. Blotter
4. Choose
5. Monolith*
6. Inhale
7. Take A Number
8. Bother
9. Inside The Cynic
10. Cold Reader*
11. Blue Study
12. Idle Hands
13. Tumult
14. Omega
*Sid Wilson appears

Murderdolls:
Corey and Jim aren't the only two Slipknot members who are moonlighting. Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has teamed up with Static-X guitarist Tripp Eisen (also previously of Dope) to form Murderdolls. Sadistically comical, Murderdolls draw lyrical inspiration from the Friday the 13th and Night of the Living Dead genre of horror movies. Musically, they are a combination of punk and straight-up blood-and-guts rock 'n' roll.

Originally formed as the Rejects over seven years ago, Murderdolls is Jordison and Tripp Eisen on guitars, Wednesday 13 on vocals, Eric Griffin on bass, and Ben Graves on drums. Hitting a wall of adversity with the band's previous line-up, Jordison hooked up with Eisen at the Ozzfest tour in '99. Eisen recruited Wednesday as bassist, who later shifted to lead vocalist. Graves and Griffin were recently added to the line up as drummer and bassist respectively. The crew's debut, titled Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls is set for release August 20th.

The confirmed track listing is as follows:

1.Slit My Wrist
2. Twist my Sister
3. Dead in Hollywood
4. Love at First Fright
5. People Hate Me
6. She Was a Teenage Zombie
7. Die My Bride
8. Grave Robbing USA
9. 197666
10. Dawn of the Dead
11. Let's Go To War
12. Dressed to Depress
13. Kill Miss America
14. B-Movie Scream Queen
15. Motherfucker, I Don't Care

Both Stone Sour and Murderdolls releases are on Roadrunner Records.
