June 26, 2001 – Tickets for Area: One shows in Detroit, MI (July 24 - DTE Energy Music Theatre) and Wantagh, NY (July 15 - Jones Beach) have completely sold out. Fans of acts like Moby, Incubus, Outkast, Nelly Furtado, The Roots, and Paul Oakenfold evidently purchased their tickets for these shows early. The response in the New York City Metro Area has led to the addition of a second Area: One show at Jones Beach on Monday, July 15th. Tickets for the second date at Jones Beach are on sale now.

In other Area: One news, former member of the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan recently confirmed that he will play guitar with New Order this summer as they play four dates on the Area: One Music Festival on the West Coast and Vancouver, BC. Corgan will join New Order on stage on the following dates:

July 31 Mountainview, CA Shoreline Amphitheatre
Aug. 2 Vancouver, BC Thunderbird Stadium
Aug. 3 Seattle, WA Gorge Amphitheatre
Aug. 5 Los Angeles, CA Glen Helen Blockbuster Amphitheatre

The Roots also announced the Harlem-bred-hip-hop chanteuse Kelis will join them on stage on seven Area: One dates beginning on the opening date of the tour on July 11th in Atlanta, GA at the Hi-Fi Buys Amphitheatre.

Finally, Liquid Todd will be the local DJ performing in the Ford Focus Area for the dates at Jones Beach (July 15-16) and Holmdel, NJ (July 19). Jason Bentley has been added as the local DJ to the show in Los Angeles at the Glen Helen Blockbuster Palace (August 5th.)
