Heavy Heart For Hanoi Rocks
June 26, 2001 Ex-Hanoi Rocks singer Michael Monroe's wife, life companion, best friend and collaborator as well as co-manager, backing singer and songwriter passed away unexpectedly from natural causes in their home of Turku, Finland on Tuesday, June 19th. A huge loss and cause for immeasurable sorrow and grief for Monroe, family and friends.
Jude Wilder was born on June 24, 1953 in Baltimore, but spent most of her life in New York City. She worked at CBS Records for about ten years in the '70s and the '80s as a product manager for artists like Cyndi Lauper, Sade and Miami Sound Machine, as well as Hanoi Rocks and many others.
After leaving CBS she devoted her life to Michael Monroe's solo career. According to Michael, he would not be here today if it weren't for Jude Wilder. Together they wrote most of the best songs on Michael's solo albums. She was a talented, loving, and angelic person whose irreplaceable absence leaves a huge gap in many people's lives.
Sympathies to Michael Monroe, who has had to say goodbye, again, to a dear friend. Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle was killed in a high-speed collision in 1983. Razzle was a passenger and the driver, Motley Crue front man Vince Neil, escaped unhurt.
