Tenacious D Release Their Debut Album September 25th on Epic Records
June 19, 2001 After numerous HBO shows and live concerts, Tenacious D (the duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass) are finally releasing their debut album September 25th on Epic Records. The self-titled CD was produced by the Dust Brothers and recorded at the Boat and Neil Diamond's ArcAngel studio in Los Angeles, California. Some friends of the D pitched in with special appearances such as Dave Grohl, Page Mcconnell from Phish, Warren Fitzgerald from the Vandals, and Steve McDonald from Redd Kross.
The album will include longtime concert favorites such as "Fuck Her Gently," Jack's song for the ladies and instruction guide for the fellas, "Lee," a homage to their favorite roadie and current Tenacious D webmaster, and "Tribute" a tribute to the greatest song in the world, as well as new tunes penned specifically for the album.
The hardest working band in show biz will hit the road this fall.
