June 12, 2000 – Legendary rock group AC/DC and VH1 are coming together to present one of the rock events of the year. The music network has joined forces with AC/DC to present the band's first tour in more than five years, planning a series of special events, both on-air and online, to announce the much anticipated concert schedule.

Tickets for the tour, which kicks off August 1 in Grand Rapids, MI, are being offered for pre-sale exclusively on VH1.com through Ticketmaster.com, on June 14th. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on June 17th.

An exclusive AC/DC VH1.com online auction featuring personal memorabilia from the group, including lead singer Brian Johnson's signature cap and numbered limited edition cover artwork of AC/DC's current album Stiff Upper Lip autographed by guitarist Angus Young, will also be held in the coming weeks. Net proceeds from the auction will go to AC/DC's favorite charity, the Nordoff Robins Foundation, and the VH1 Save the Music Foundation. AC/DC raised over $40k for Nordoff Robins earlier this year.

AC/DC's second single from the new album, "Satellite Blues," was the number one most added record of the week across the board, and is one of the most requested songs on rock radio. Fans can also look forward to hearing a special previously unreleased AC/DC bonus track in the coming weeks. "Cyberspace," recorded during the Stiff Upper Lip sessions, will be featured exclusively on Elektra's new online rock jukebox, http://www.RockBox2000.com, that launches shortly.
