Dirty Vegas Come to a Town, TV Screen and Record Store Near You
May 30, 2002 Dirty Vegas are confirmed for "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," June 12. The U.K.-based trio will perform their hit single "Days Go By," featured on their self-titled debut set for release June 4.
The group has select North
American dj gigs set for June (see dates below) and plans are currently being made for them to return mid-summer for
their first U.S. full band tour.
Originally known to American audiences as the soundtrack to Mitsubishi Eclipse's popular TV ad campaign, this week, the single "Days Go By" reached # 1 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music chart and # 14 on Billboard's Top 40 Airplay
Monitor charts. The video for "Days Go By" is in rotation on VH1, MTV and MTV2.
All veterans of the U.K. club scene, Dirty Vegas -- singer/multi-instrumentalist Steve Smith,
producer/multi-instrumentalist Ben Harris and producer/keyboardist/deejay Paul Harris -- came together
in 2001 with the dream of melding the sounds of electronica and dance with traditional guitar-based songwriting. The resulting disc, Dirty Vegas, includes songs "Throwing Shapes," "Candles," and "Days Go By."
