Quiet Riot Launches New Album

Band Performs on This Summer's Glam Slam Metal Jam 2001 Tour with Poison and Others

May 17, 2001 – Quiet Riot, the mega-selling heavy metal band from the '80s, will debut a brand new release titled Guilty Pleasures, to hit stores Tuesday, May 29. The band, featuring its original lineup – Kevin DuBrow (vocals), Frankie Banali (drums), Carlos Cavazo (guitar) and Rudy Sarzo (bass) – will also tour as one of the headliners in the summer Glam Slam Metal Jam Tour that will rock more than 50 domestic cities through August.

Quiet Riot – whose debut release Metal Health reached #1 on the Billboard charts and sold more than 10 million albums – completed recording their latest CD, Guilty Pleasures, earlier this year. Guilty Pleasures, which promises to be the band's best effort since Metal Health, features 11 new Quiet Riot compositions that bring back the band's classic sound. Recording commenced January 8, 2001, for the New York-based Bodyguard Records independent label.

The first single that's already being played on the radio across the nation is "Rock the House." To coincide with the release of the Guilty Pleasures CD, Quiet Riot will be part of the Glam Slam Metal Jam 2001 tour this summer, which also features Poison, Warrant, and Enuff Z'Nuff. The tour kicks off Wednesday, May 23, in Amarillo, Texas and will continue nationwide through August 2001.

"I'm extremely excited about our latest release and the tour," says Kevin DuBrow, lead singer of Quiet Riot. "All the songs were not only written by Carlos, Rudy, Frankie and myself, all of the performances were done only by the band, without using additional guest musicians or vocalists," he added. "It's always a great feeling to just finish a new album and get on the road," he adds.

The Quiet Riot catalog, which now numbers 16 releases worldwide, continues to sell in excess of 140,000 albums a year, a rare feat for a band of its genre. The Quiet Riot Discography includes: Metal Health; Condition Critical; Live Riot (Japanese release only); QRIII; QR; Winners Take All; Quiet Riot the Randy Rhoads Years; Terrified; Winners Take All II; Best of Quiet Riot; Down to the Bone; Cum On Feel the Noize; Quiet Riot-Greatest Hits; Alive and Well; Quiet Riot-Super Hits; Quiet Riot-The Collection; and the new release, Guilty Pleasures.

Quiet Riot was recently included in VH1's "100 Greatest Rock Bands of Rock and Roll" as well as being ranked seventh in their recent special "Top 40 Hair Bands." Also on the horizon for Quiet Riot is a DVD release now under negotiation to document the group's 26 year history, commencing with its inception in 1975 when Quiet Riot was formed by the late, great guitarist Randy Rhoads and vocalist Kevin DuBrow.
