Lou Barlow Hits the Road Solo Playing Folk Implosion Songs and More
May 31, 2000 Folk Implosion provocateur Lou Barlow is again packing his acoustic guitar and four-track backing band and heading out on that lonesome highway. Having just returned from a highly successful European tour, no dust is going to gather under Barlow's feet, because he's out having one swell time playing the songs from 1999's Folk Implosion record, One Part Lullaby.
As on the last sold-out US Folk Implosion tour in March, the other half of the band, John Davis, is content to hold the fort at his Boston home and studio, though Barlow includes him on answering machine snippets and whatnot, and gracefully endures bad puns.
Who knows what will be thrown into the mix, either from a whim or a shouted fan request. Of course, that could include Sebadoh or Sentridoh songs, maybe even a moving rendition of Foreigner's "Cold as Ice" as fans were treated to on the last sold-out US tour in March.
