July 15 in Portland, OR, rock station KUFO will merge with Tattoo the Earth for a special show billed as KUFO's RockFest Tattoos the Earth also featuring Stone Temple Pilots.
Tattoo the Earth an alternative lifestyle festival tour that combines top hard music bands with world-renowned tattoo artists will span the country with stops in approximately 25 markets including Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York and Seattle.
In a recent interview in Alternative Press, Slipknot's #6 talked about the band's interest in the tour and tattooing: "We're really into this theme. It's another form of artistic expression... There's the live music, and then there's art beyond the music. I don't even think you need to be a tattoo lover to really appreciate it." Meanwhile, Scott Alderman of BeatCo the tour's creator described the inspiration behind the tour in a recent interview with the Boston Globe: "Nothing represents the counter youth culture like music and body art. It is a statement of purpose and a passport to another way of living."
