Neve Explode on the Scene
The new comers are to Perform with Lenny Kravitz, Sugar Ray, Goo Goo Dolls, Marc Anthony and others at "Wango Tango 2000" May 13th, Dodgers Stadium, LA.
Self-titled Debut Due Out June 13
May 12, 2000 Now that Neve (lead singer/guitarist/songwriter John Stephens,
guitarist/songwriter Michael Raphael, bassist Tommy Gruber and drummer Brian Burwell) have wrapped up their eight-week nationwide tour of Hard Rock Cafes and high schools, one would think that they'd get some time off. Not the case here.
Immediately following the tour's completion, April 29 in Seattle, Stephens and
Raphael hit the road on a radio promo tour. At stations such as KDGE in Dallas, Z100 in Portland, KISS in Seattle and 99X in Atlanta, they performed an acoustic version of "It's Over Now," the first single from Neve's forthcoming self-titled debut album, due out June 13 on Portrait/Columbia. The single officially goes for radio-station adds May 16.
Once the latest round of promo dates wraps up next week, Neve's schedule will
intensify. To get it started, they're confirmed to play a special VIP Lounge
Cybercast backstage at KIIS-FM's "Wango Tango 2000" Saturday, May 13th at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. Their all-acoustic set will be broadcast live on the Internet at www.kiisfmi.com. Main stage performers at "Wango Tango 2000" include Lenny
Kravitz, Sugar Ray, Goo Goo Dolls, Marc Anthony and Brian McKnight. Next,
Neve will perform at a CosmoGirl magazine-sponsored Ralph Lauren fashion show
May 20 at 2:00 PM PT at the Galleria in Glendale, CA.
Following these shows, the band will make week-long stops in various cities such as Salt Lake City, Sacramento and San Diego, performing in clubs and visiting local record stores. Neve aren't strangers to these "residencies." Last winter, the band held court for one month straight at the Chesterfield in Spain. The band will also be making various one-off appearances throughout June, including one in Dallas, TX at the Galaxy Club June 13 to celebrate the album's official release. Fans should also stay tuned for news of the band's next "regular" tour.
