Miracle Bounces Steady in the Top Five
April 27, 2000 Atlanta is home to yet another up-and-coming music artist: Miracle. 19-year-old Akira La-Miracle Evans, AKA "Miracle," the newest artist signed to Sound of Atlanta/Universal, continues to keep a strong hold in the top five rap singles chart with his underground smash "Bounce."
Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Miracle's mother named him after he survived a coma when he was just a few weeks old. "When I was born, I went into a coma. I wasn't supposed to make it," states Miracle. Well, he made it all the way to Universal Records by way of Sound of Atlanta and "Bounce."
Slated for a May 9th release of Miracle's self-titled debut album, the single "Bounce" has sold over 36,000 units in the southern markets alone, and, according to Sound of Atlanta CEO Gene Griffin "Bounce" has sold close to anther 20,000 units in Mom-and-Pop stores across the south.
Asked how he feels about the success of "Bounce," Miracle replies, "I feel blessed to be here. Bounce is rap, rock & roll fun music, I'm just ready to get the whole world Bouncing."
