April 19, 2000 – In response to recent press reports Madonna has released the following statement:

"Despite what you may have read including quotes falsely attributed to me I do not know the sex of my baby and I have no plans for marriage. I will not be releasing any further information regarding my personal life or my pregnancy. Once again, I would be very grateful for my family's privacy to be respected at this time. Thank you."
