Charlotte Church, the 14 Year-Old Welsh Soprano Phenomenon, and Amanda Dunbar, the 17 Year-Old World Renowned Art Prodigy, Announce Goal of Raising $100,000 for Charity
Both Prodigies Appeared at FAO Schwarz on 5th Avenue and 58th Street, NYC, Tuesday at 10 am, To Sign Special Limited Edition Art Prints
April 19, 2000 – Internationally-acclaimed Welsh soprano phenomenon, 14 year-old Charlotte Church and world-renowned art prodigy, 17 year-old Amanda Dunbar, appeared at FAO Schwarz on Tuesday, April 18th at 10:00 a.m. to announce that they have met their goal of raising $100,000 for Oprah Winfrey's Angel Network. The Angel Network provides badly needed assistance to underprivileged school children.
Charlotte and Amanda met when they were both guests on "The Oprah Winfrey Show." The girls decided to use Amanda's tribute painting of Charlotte as a vehicle to help less fortunate children.
In January, the girls announced the release of a special limited edition print of the painting. 100 serigraphs on canvas were produced. The prints went on sale last month for $1,000 each and sold out in 48 hours, raising $100,000 for the charity. Both Charlotte and Amanda signed the fine art prints at FAO Schwarz's 5th Avenue store on Tuesday, April 18th.
