April 11, 2000 – In an effort to educate kids about the hazards and dangers of motorsports, Vans Warped Tour organizer Kevin Lyman has created the "Learn Before You Leap" motorcycle safety campaign. This program will debut at the Vans Warped Tour this summer and will involve meet-and-greet sessions with the tour's professional Moto-X riders and fans to discuss motorcycle safety tips. These riders – Chris Rourke, Twitch, Collin Morrison and Brian Ferrell – have had years of training to perfect their sometimes death-defying stunts and can, therefore, offer guidelines and tips to newer riders.

In addition to its presence on the Vans Warped Tour 2000, the "Learn To Look Before You Leap" program will also be implemented by the Flying Diablos Moto-X team (managed by Lyman and his associates). This group is a team of five of the best Moto-X riders in the world who perform at various fairs and special events across the country. At each event, the riders – Mike Cinqmars, Brian Deegan, Ronnie Faisst, Carey Hart and Larry Linkogle – will meet with fans to discuss safety tips.
