Q104.3 "New York's Only Classic Rock Station" Welcomes Morning Show Guest Hosts Styx, Boomer Esiason and Peter Max
April 10, 2000 Q104.3 (WAXQ-FM) New York's Only Classic Rock Station, an AMFM Inc. (NYSE: AFM) station, announced that during the week of April 10th, the Q104 Morning Show (6a.m. - 10a.m.) will be hosted by a revolving lineup of special guest hosts.
On Monday, April 10th, the classic rock group Styx brings their unique sound to Q104.3 for a morning filled of live performances and 28 years of behind-the-scenes stories. Styx will also be announcing their upcoming New York area concert appearances.
Long Island native and former New York Jet quarterback Boomer Esiason hosts the Tuesday, April 11th Q104.3 Morning Show. During his 14 years in the NFL, he made four trips to the Pro Bowl and led the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl in 1988. Esiason is also the founder and co-chairman of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which has raised more than $5 million for cystic fibrosis research.
New Yorker Peter Max bridges the world of art and music as only he can when he hosts the Wednesday, April 12th Q104.3 Morning Show. Max's visual impact on the sixties has often been compared to the influence the Beatles had with their music. In 1999, Max was asked to create the world's largest rock and roll stage for the 30th anniversary of Woodstock. A lover of music, Max has been designated Official Artist for the Grammys, the 25th Anniversary of the New Orleans Jazz Festival and the Woodstock Music Festival.
Q104.3 VP/General Manager Matt Ross remarked on the special lineup, "With our upcoming change in mornings, we thought it would be enjoyable for our listeners to wakeup to this eclectic lineup of legends from the worlds of music, sports and art."
A permanent host of the Q104.3 Morning Show will be announced on Monday, April 17th.
