April 7, 2000 – Tom Waits will bring his "Get Behind the Mule Tour" to Europe in May to perform in both Warsaw and Paris. This marks his first trip to Poland, where he has accepted an offer to perform May 26 at the TPSA Film and Music Festival taking place at the Sala Kongresowa, the Culture Palace of Warsaw, which was a gift to Poland from Stalin and Russia in 1955.

From there, Waits will head to Paris – for the first time since 1987 – where he will perform three shows, May 29, 30 and 31 at the Grand Rex Theatre. Tickets for the Paris shows are available at the box office only. There are no more live dates scheduled this year. Meanwhile, Waits has just finished up in the studio with blues artist John Hammond. Waits was at the production helm and the album is tentatively slated for an early fall release on Point Blank, a boutique label of Virgin.
