Pearl Jam's New Single "Nothing As It Seems" Will Debut Online April 10
The First Track From Their New Album Binaural
April 7, 2000 April 10, Pearl Jam will officially debut a new song online for the first time in the band's history.
"Nothing As It Seems" is the first single from Pearl Jam's forthcoming Epic album Binaural, which arrives in stores May 16. "Nothing As It Seems" will be available in the Apple Quicktime streaming format from three web sites: www.apple.com/quicktime/hotpicks, www.sonymusic.com/artists/PearlJam, and www.tenclub.net.
The new single will debut on the Internet Monday, April 10 and will be available from April 10-April 24. The commercial single (with the B-side "Insignificance") will be available at retail April 25.
"Nothing As It Seems," with words and music by Jeff Ament, was recorded by Tchad Blake and produced by Tchad Blake and Pearl Jam. Blake's previous credits include Sheryl Crow, Los Lobos, and Crowded House, to name a few.
Pearl Jam will perform on "Late Night with David Letterman" (CBS network) April 12. The band will play a free club concert at the 1100-capacity Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC, May 11 the band's first full concert appearance since September of 1998.
May 23 in Lisbon, Portugal, Pearl Jam kick off a 29-date European tour in support of Binaural. A full-scale US tour follows, beginning in Virginia Beach on August 2 and ending in Seattle in early November. Dates and details will be announced shortly.
