March 30, 2002 — Singer-Songwriter Lyle Lovett was hospitalized Wednesday night after being trampled by a bull on his farm in nearby Houston. Lovett was injured after helping his uncle who had been flipped by the bull in a ranching accident. Lovett suffered a compound fracture to his lower right leg, just below the kneecap and underwent surgery to repair the fracture. His uncle was treated and released. Lovett is expected to make a full recovery and will be released from the hospital in a few days.
