Pantera In-store Appearance Shut Down by Police
March 21, 2000 (Dallas, TX) Dallas hometown heroes and modern-metal kings, Pantera
celebrated the release of Reinventing the Steel (their first studio album in four years)
last night during a midnight in-store appearance at Tower Records in Dallas, TX with 2000 of their
closest friends and most rabid fans.
Unfortunately, a little over an hour into the event, the police pulled the plug on the
Pantera-fest, citing everything from noise to unruliness. Despite the abrupt halt, however, Pantera
still managed to outsell 'N Sync (also due out today) at a rate of 10 to 1.
Pantera currently boast four platinum albums, three gold home videos, and two Grammy nominations.
In support of their recent release, Reinventing the Steel, look for the band live this
summer as it co-headlines the OzzFest tour.
