February 23, 2002
The Goo Goo Dolls will release Gutterflower April 9 on Warner Bros Records.
Their first new album in over four years was written by guitarist John
Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac and features twelve new tracks including
the debut single "Here is Gone."
Gutterflower follows their
multi-platinum smash Dizzy Up the Girl, as well as the compilation What I Learned About Ego, Opinion, Art and Commerce released in 2000. Dizzy Up the Girl has sold five million copies worldwide and spawned two No. 1 hits, "Iris" and "Slide" as well as three top ten singles, "Black Balloon,"
"Dizzy" and "Broadway."
The new album was produced by the band and longtime collaborator Rob
Cavallo. The first single, "Here is Gone," will hit radio the first week of March.
In other news, Goo Goo Dolls -- Rzeznik, Takac and drummer Mark Malinin
-- performed at the Olympic Medals Plaza February 22, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
