February 19, 2002 — Dilated Peoples have announced details of their upcoming tour. The hip-hop trio is set to headline a unique festival-style bill that includes live performances along with a screening of the new Palm Pictures documentary, Scratch.

The tour is set to kick off on March 5th at San Francisco's Fillmore, with dates continuing through Miami's annual Winter Music Conference, and more dates to be announced shortly.

Dilated Peoples will be joined on the Scratch Tour by a number of legendary hip-hop artists, including GrandWizzard Theodore, Z-Trip and the Original Jazzy Jay. The tour will also feature a variety of special guest DJs, such as Mix Master Mike, DJ Swamp, DJ Craze, and DJ Q-Bert.

The shows will be highlighted by a screening of Palm Pictures' Scratch, a feature-length film about the hip-hop DJ and today's turntablist movement. The documentary will be projected in 35mm, and will feature a massive Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mix. Executive produced by the Hughes Brothers (From Hell, American Pimp) and directed by Doug Pray (Hype!), Scratch began arriving at theatres in selected cities across America February 15th.

Expansion Team, Dilated Peoples' second Capitol Records album, was released October 23rd, 2001. The collection -- which features the single, "Worst Comes To Worst" -- sees the Los Angeles-based trio collaborating with such inventive producers as DJ Premier (Gang Starr, Mos Def), Alchemist (Big Pun, Everlast), ?uestlove (The Roots), and Da Beatminerz (M.O.P). Dilated Peoples is: Evidence, DJ Babu, and Rakaa (Iriscience).
