Pink Makes Upcoming TV Appearances In Advance of Headlining Tour This Spring
Album, Missundaztood, Passes Two Million Sales as 'Don't Let Me Get Me' Is Chosen as Follow-up Single to 'Get the Party Started'
February 12, 2002
Pink, whose second album, Missundaztood, has officially passed the two-million sales mark, is set for a schedule of TV appearances:
Feb 16 - MTV special "Making the Video"
Feb 21 - "Late Night with David Letterman"
Feb 22 - "The Rosie O'Donnell Show"
Feb 27 - "The Grammy Awards"
Apr 20 - "Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards"
This follows on the heels of her performances on "Saturday Night Live," "Billboard Awards," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Live with Regis and Kelly."
Pink, an MTV VMA double-award winner and Grammy co-nominee this year
(for "Lady Marmalade"), has been nominated for two Nickelodeon Kid's
Choice awards -- Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Song for "Get the Party Started," the first single from Missundaztood.
After 12 weeks on the Billboard 200 Album chart, the album is still
locked in the Top 10 and has overtaken the RIAA
double-platinum success of Pink's debut, Can't Take Me Home. That
album, which spent 59 weeks on the chart spanning 2000 - 2001, contained the
consecutive #1/#2 pop/R&B crossover hit singles "There You Go" and "Most
Girls."
With "Get the Party Started" still holding strong at radio -- after peaking (so far) at #2 and #3 on the Top 40 and Rhythm charts respectively in R&R (Radio & Records), and at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- comes the news of
a new single: "Don't Let Me Get Me" (which is already getting early adds at
radio). The track was co-written by Pink with the Atlanta-based producer and
arranger Dallas Austin.
The promotional video for "Don't Let Me Get Me," set to premiere on
February 16, was directed by Dave Meyers -- his fourth
consecutive clip with Pink, following "Get the Party Started," "Most Girls"
and "There You Go." At radio, "Don't Let Me Get Me" is scheduled to impact at
Mainstream Top 40 and Rhythm formats on February 18th, the week before the
Grammy awards.
Stay tuned for Pink's headlining U.S. tour dates this spring.
