Baha Men to Release Move It Like This March 26

Bahamian Band Plan International Tour

January 17, 2002 — The Baha Men announce the release of their follow-up to 2000's Who Let the Dogs Out, which sold over 5 million copies and launched the biggest single of the year. Move It Like This will be in stores March 26, on S-Curve Records/Capitol Records. The first single (and title track) is already gaining airplay on radio stations and in sports stadiums across the country. "Move It Like This" will also be the featured single in the upcoming film Big Fat Liar (Universal Pictures), due in theatres February 8. The film stars Frankie Muniz ("Malcom in the Middle") and Amanda Bynes (Nickelodeon) in a comedy about a youth whose school paper is turned into a blockbuster after being stolen by a sleazy Hollywood producer.

Armed with new songs combining the Junkanoo rhythms of their homeland with pop, reggae, rap and R&B, the Baha Men once again look to bring their unique sound to the airwaves and beyond. The 9-piece band just wrapped the headlining spot on the Radio Disney Tour and will launch an international tour in early 2002, with US concerts expected to begin in April.

The Baha Men made pop music history with their infectious single, "Who Let The Dogs Out," that became the unofficial sports anthem for many major sporting events in 2000 and 2001. After nearly 20 years of recording albums and non-stop touring, the band became "overnight sensations," winning a Grammy Award, two Billboard Awards, and two Kid's Choice Awards. They also toured with *NSYNC and 98 Degrees, and appeared in television specials for Disney, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, on the ESPY Awards, the American Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, and countless other television shows. They recorded a new song for the animated film Shrek, the theme song for cartoon television series Stanley, and were heard in the Nickelodeon film Rugrats in Paris. Founding member Isaiah Taylor muses, "It has truly been an amazing couple of years for us and we are so proud to be the ones who finally put the Bahamas on the musical map."

The Baha Men were also recently honored by Billboard Magazine with awards for the Top Independent Label Artists of 2001, Top Independent Album of 2001, Top World Music Artist and Top World Music Album. Their record company, S-Curve Records, also received the Top Independent Album Imprint and Top World Music Imprint for the second year in a row, due largely to the success of the band.

S-Curve Records, an independent record label founded in 2000 by Steve Greenberg, recently inked a deal with EMI Recorded Music and Capitol Records to distribute all artists on the label, including the Baha Men.
