Disturbed Tap Temporary Replacement to Fill In for Their Injured Bassist Fuzz on Overseas Marilyn Manson Tour
January 16, 2001
Disturbed riding high with their platinum-plus Giant debut The Sickness have
tapped Methods Of Mayhem's Marty O'Brien to fill in on bass for the group's
recuperating bassist Fuzz on their overseas tour with Marilyn Manson,
January 21 through February 21. A few days before Christmas, Fuzz shattered
his ankle at the band's Chicago rehearsal studio after falling two stories
from the building's fire escape, which he took to exit the building while
the elevator was being used to cart the band's equipment.
After successful surgery, Fuzz was cautioned by doctors to skip the Manson
tour in order to avoid long-term damage to his foot. But Fuzz did perform
Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12 at the band's triumphant two
sold-out shows at Metro in their native Chicago tickets for which sold out
in 11 minutes.
Disturbed's vocalist David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan and
drummer/programmer Mike Wengren will tour with O'Brien for the overseas trek
of 20 shows in 13 countries, beginning in Birmingham, England and wrapping
in Helsinki, Finland. Disturbed described as a "...tight, savage crew" met and became friends with O'Brien last summer as they toured together on Ozzfest.
This touring news comes in the midst of the success of Disturbed's
second single and video "Voices."
